Four great schools: Su (Suzhou), Xiang (Hunan), Yue (Guangdong), Shu (Sichuan). Beijing embroidery, once imperial, is a national ICH element (2014). Chaozhou work uses dense silk and gold. The needle is the tool; the school is the accent.
